 This is to bring to the notice of every interested person who wishes to migrate to Canada in 2023 that application is currently ongoing.

All you have to do is to get the application form online and complete it as soon as possible. They are online systems that can assist you in the application. See Yukon Nominee Program.

Examples of such systems are the Canada’s Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program. Whichever route you want to use, you have to follow the due procedure.

Online applications available for Canada Immigration

Apply online for these permanent immigration programs:

  • Agri-food pilot
  • Adopting a child through the immigration process
  • Atlantic immigration program
  • Caregivers
    • Home Child Care Provider Pilot
    • Home Support Worker Pilot
  • Humanitarian and compassionate considerations within Canada

If you can’t apply online and need accommodations, including for a disability, you can ask for the application in another format (paper, braille or large print).

Canada Immigration Form

Are you ready for the application now? During the application, you are going see the following forms (for yourself, and any family members 18 or older) online and it requires that you fill them electronically as required.

  1. Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008)
  2. Schedule A – Background/Declaration (IMM 5669)
  3. Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)
  4. Supplementary Information – Your travels (IMM 5562), if it applies to you

For all programs

If using a paid representative or a designated individual these forms can either be signed by hand or electronically

  • Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 1.48 MB) – for paid representatives

For family sponsorship applications only

The sponsor must

  • download and complete these forms
  • digitally sign, along with the principal applicant (PA)
  • Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking [IMM 1344] (PDF, 478.72KB)
  • Relationship Information and Sponsorship Evaluation Form [IMM 5532] (PDF, 2.21MB)
  • Important: To digitally sign the form, you must first complete the form and then select “print to PDF”. This will create a new a version of the form that can be digitally signed.
    • If the principal applicant is a minor child (under 18 years old) their parent or legal guardian must sign the forms, and consent and declaration on their behalf.

Submitting forms that someone else needs to sign by hand

For some programs, you may need to include forms that you print and sign by hand. If a third party (other than an authorized representative) also needs to sign the form, like an employer or parent of your dependent child, you must

  • print and complete it
  • sign it by hand
  • get the third party to sign it by hand
  • upload it with your application:

If you cannot apply online and require accommodations

If you, your sponsor (if being sponsored by a family member) or representative cannot apply online and require accommodations, including for a disability, you may ask for an alternative format. See Express Entry Canada.

Your application is going to be reviewed and you will be sent application package in one of these formats:

  • paper
  • braille
  • large print

To request another format:

  1. Open a new email
  2. In the subject line of your email, include:
    • the format you need (paper, braille, or large print), and
    • the application package you want
  3. In the body of your email, include
    • your full name (principal applicant) as shown on your passport
    • the full name of your sponsor, if you’re being sponsored by a family member
    • a statement explaining that you’re asking for an alternate format
    • if you want the application in English or French
    • how we should send it to you (by email or regular mail)
      • Include your email address if you want us to send it electronically so you can print it yourself. This option will save you the time it would take to mail it to you.
      • Include your mailing address if you want it mailed to you.
  4. Send your email to: [email protected]

After request has been recieved, you will get a reply with instructions to tell you where to send your application.

To submit your application

  • fill out and sign any paper forms
  • return the application by mail or courier to the mailing address provided in our instructions

Immigration representatives

If you are a representative and want to appoint someone to do business in Canada on your behalf, you must

  • complete a Use of a Representative (IMM 5476) form
  • electronically sign it and get your immigration representative to do so also
  • upload it with your application

An immigration representative (an immigration consultant or lawyer) can give you advice and help you with your application for a fee. But they can’t

  • open a portal account on your behalf
  • electronically sign the application for you
  • sign into the portal using your username and password

A representative can fill out forms and communicate with us on your behalf through their own account. They can also

  • help you prepare the documents you need to upload
  • answer questions about the forms

If you are using the portal to fill out and upload your forms and supporting documents, a representative could help you with the application using screen-sharing technology.

After you read the declaration, you must be the one who types your name. This is the legal requirement for your application to be considered “signed,” according to Canada’s immigration law.

Technical issues

In case of any technical issues with the permanent residence online application portal, you seek assistance using the web form

  • under type of application/enquiry, choose technical difficulties from the drop-down menu
  • in the text box, specify the program you’re applying under
  • upload screenshots from your account that show us
    • the page where you’re having problems
    • the error message(s) you get
